Founded in 1876, Woodlawn Cemetery is a classic example of the type of rural cemetery that urban planners began to favor in the mid-1800s. Woodlawn Cemetery Stream Restoration
Our Woodlawn stream restoration project is making a big impact for water quality in Toledo! This project stabilizes 950 feet of eroding streambank, helping keep sediment and pollutants out of the Ottawa River and Lake Erie. Healthier shorelines mean cleaner water and stronger ecosystems for the entire watershed.
Did you know that our Woodlawn stream restoration project is part of a larger initiative? It’s projected to remove 51,915 tons of accumulated sediment from Toledo’s urban watershed. Reducing sediment improves water quality, aquatic habitat, and the long-term health of local rivers and streams.
